Island Pet Resources There are lovely places to stay with your dog while vacationing on Mackinac Island. Pet sitters are found by asking the housekeeping staff or college students who work on the Island. Many leave their families to come work for the season, which means they miss their family pets too. So many would love to hang out with your dog, take 'em for a walk or just cuddle while you are out to dinner or for drinks and dancing, The going rate for pet sitting is ranges from $5 to $10 an hour.

Pet Friendly Attractions
Most attractions on the Island are pet friendly. Mackinac Island Carriage Tours permits small dogs that are willing to sit on their owners laps. Larger dogs are permitted but if they need a seat, they are charged a child's fare, all dogs must be horse friendly.
Getting Here
There is no addtional fee to bring your dog on any Ferry or via Great Lakes Air. Please know, they must be kept on their leash and are not permitted on the furniture.
